The Medical Examiner's Report ("MER") is an independent podcast and educational media platform created for informational, educational, journalistic, and commentary purposes.
The content presented through the MER podcast, website, Case Vault, social media channels, videos, written materials, and related platforms should not be interpreted as professional medical, forensic, investigative, or legal advice.
Educational Purpose
MER examines real cases through available forensic evidence, autopsy findings, medical examiner and coroner records, toxicology findings, investigative records, court documents, credible journalism, interviews, public statements, and other available sources.
The purpose of MER is to educate audiences about forensic science, death investigation, and the role evidence plays in understanding real-world cases.
MER does not conduct official death investigations and has no authority to determine cause of death, manner of death, criminal responsibility, civil liability, guilt, or innocence.
Host Credentials
Kisha Chanelle is the creator, researcher, and host of The Medical Examiner's Report.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, neither the host nor MER represents itself as a medical examiner, coroner, forensic pathologist, physician, law enforcement agency, attorney, private investigator, forensic laboratory, or other licensed forensic or investigative professional.
When MER features opinions or explanations from qualified professionals, their credentials will be identified when reasonably possible.
Presumption of Innocence
MER may discuss individuals who have been accused, investigated, arrested, charged, sued, questioned, or publicly associated with a case.
An accusation is not proof of guilt.
Any individual accused of a crime should be presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
The discussion of an individual, investigative theory, witness statement, allegation, inconsistency, unanswered question, or piece of evidence should not be interpreted as an assertion that the individual committed a crime or other wrongful act.
MER does not encourage listeners to determine guilt based solely upon podcast content.
Confirmed Facts, Statements & Allegations
MER strives to distinguish among:
Confirmed Facts — Information supported by official records or other sufficiently reliable documentation.
Reported Statements — Statements attributed to witnesses, family members, attorneys, investigators, public officials, or other identified sources.
Independent Findings — Findings or opinions provided by independently retained forensic professionals or other experts.
Allegations or Claims — Statements that have been made but may not have been independently established.
Unresolved Questions — Matters for which sufficient information is not currently available to reach a conclusion.
MER Commentary — Analysis, questions, observations, or educational discussion provided by the host.
The presence of conflicting information does not establish that any particular person is being dishonest or has committed wrongdoing.
Ongoing Investigations
Some cases discussed by MER may remain active, unresolved, under investigation, subject to litigation, or otherwise developing.
Information presented reflects what was reasonably available at the time the content was created.
New records, forensic testing, witness information, court proceedings, official findings, or other developments may subsequently change the understanding of a case.
MER may publish updates or corrections when significant new information becomes available but does not guarantee that previously published content will always reflect the latest developments.
Listeners should consider the original publication date when evaluating any episode or Case Vault material.
Autopsy & Forensic Information
MER may discuss or provide access to autopsy reports, preliminary autopsy findings, toxicology results, medical examiner or coroner records, independent forensic examinations, death certificates, pathology findings, and related materials when lawfully obtained and appropriate for publication.
A preliminary finding is not necessarily a final determination.
Independent forensic findings may also differ from findings issued by a government medical examiner, coroner, laboratory, or investigative agency.
When multiple findings exist, MER will attempt to identify their respective sources.
MER's explanation of medical or forensic terminology is provided for educational purposes and should not be interpreted as an independent professional medical or forensic conclusion.

MER cannot guarantee that every third-party source is complete, accurate, authentic, current, or free from error.
When information cannot be independently verified, MER will attempt to identify it accordingly.

The Medical Examiner's Report discusses death and real criminal investigations.

Discussion of a case does not imply endorsement of every theory, statement, article, investigation, or conclusion associated with that case.
Case Vault
The MER Case Vault is an educational research archive containing supporting materials associated with cases discussed by the podcast.
Membership provides access to available research materials; it does not provide access to an official investigative database.
Documents appearing in the Case Vault may originate from different sources and carry different levels of evidentiary significance.

Photographs & Sensitive Records
MER may occasionally publish photographs, diagrams, records, or other sensitive case materials when they are lawfully available and MER determines that publication serves a legitimate educational, forensic, or journalistic purpose.
The availability of material does not automatically mean MER will publish it.
MER may choose to redact, crop, blur, restrict, summarize, or decline to publish material based upon privacy, dignity, legal, ethical, or editorial considerations.
Graphic material will not be published solely for shock value.
No Vigilante Activity
MER strongly discourages listeners and members from attempting to independently confront, contact, investigate, surveil, harass, or identify individuals associated with cases discussed by the program.
Do not interfere with active investigations.
Do not contact victims' families, witnesses, suspects, employers, schools, or other individuals for the purpose of harassment or intimidation.
Do not publish private identifying information.

Submitting a case to MER does not create a confidential, attorney-client, investigator-client, medical, fiduciary, or professional relationship.
Submission does not guarantee investigation, podcast coverage, Case Vault inclusion, assistance, or a response.
Please do not send confidential medical information, sealed records, graphic photographs, illegally obtained materials, or private identifying information through MER's general contact form.
