Submit a Case
Is There a Case You Believe Deserves a Closer Look?
The Medical Examiner's Report accepts case suggestions from listeners, families, researchers, advocates, and members of the public.
We are especially interested in cases involving:
Unexplained or disputed deaths
Questions surrounding autopsy findings
Conflicting forensic information
Unresolved cause or manner of death
Missing persons later found deceased
Cold cases
Cases involving disputed timelines
Significant forensic evidence
Cases where families are still seeking answers
Submitting a case does not guarantee that it will be selected, investigated, covered on the podcast, or added to the Case Vault.
Every submission is reviewed for available documentation, public interest, research feasibility, and whether the case fits the educational mission of MER.
A Note to Families
If you are submitting a case involving someone you love, we understand that sharing their story can be difficult.
MER's goal is to approach every case with care, dignity, and respect.
Submitting a case does not require you to participate in an episode, provide an interview, or publicly discuss your experience.
If your case is selected, we will discuss participation options with you before requesting any direct involvement.

MER is not a law enforcement agency, medical examiner's office, coroner's office, law firm, or private investigative agency.
Submitting a case does not create an attorney-client, investigator-client, confidential, fiduciary, or professional relationship.
